Walsh Construction tops out Lawson House renovation
Chicago, IL - Walsh Construction has placed the final steel beam for the new elevator and stair tower at Lawson House, marking the topping out of the new structure for the expansive renovation project in Chicago's Gold Coast.
Walsh Construction, Holsten Real Estate Development Corporation, Farr Associates and K&K Iron Works, LLC gathered to celebrate the milestone by signing the final beam before it was hoisted atop Lawson's House northern elevation.
The historic renovation project at the 90-year-old, 24-story apartment tower includes the modernization and conversion of the Art Deco building from 538 single-room occupancy units into 409 affordable apartments. The $122 million project is approximately 50 percent complete.
