The Walsh Group names Craig Atkinson Vice President of Strategic Services
Chicago, Illinois - The Walsh Group, one of the largest construction service providers in the United States, has named Craig Atkinson as Vice President of Strategic Services.
In this new role, Atkinson will work closely with ownership and senior leaders to guide long term planning, strengthen leadership development efforts, and support key business priorities across The Walsh Group. He will shape the multi year strategy for programs like the Walsh Group Leadership Initiative (WGLI), the company’s regional and business unit academies, and its company-wide coaching programs, ensuring our talent needs and future goals align. Craig will be based in our Chicago headquarters and report to Dan Walsh Jr., part of the fourth generation of family ownership.
Atkinson will lead the design and improvement of The Walsh Group’s flagship leadership programs and set clear standards and tools that help teams across the company deliver consistent, successful results. He will also oversee the approach to coaching and partnering, from selecting coaches and managing partnerships to tracking results and sharing easy to use insights, that help company leaders make informed decisions with their customers.
“Craig has played an essential role in shaping how we develop leaders and prepare for the future. His strategic mindset, steady leadership, and ability to connect our people and customers to our long term goals is helping to strengthen our organization,” said Dan Walsh Jr.
With more than 26 years at The Walsh Group, Atkinson previously served as Vice President of Communications and Strategic Services, where he led the Corporate Communications Department, managing the company’s external and internal communications and national marketing efforts, as well as facilitating the WGLI program since 2006.
