The Walsh Group completes reservoir replacement project for the City of Everett
Everett, Washington - The Walsh Group has completed two 2.5 million gallon pre-stressed concrete cylindrical reservoirs for the City of Everett. The two-year project replaced a 110-year-old seismically vulnerable in-ground reservoir, and the new post-tensioned concrete tanks eliminate the risk for failure of the western and southern embankments, which were in poor condition. The new reservoir is designed to be earthquake-resistant.
The project also required Walsh to demolish the existing reservoir, replace an old 24-inch transmission line between the existing Reservoir 2 and Reservoir 1, and construct a new 1,400-square-foot operations and storage building.
