San Jose, CA - Progress photos from April 2023 showcase construction work for the new Digested Sludge Dewatering Facility at the San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility. This progressive design-build project will free up 750 acres by transitioning open-air drying beds to an enclosed dewatering process. Walsh Construction is serving as the design-builder with Black & Veatch. The new facility will allow the wastewater plant to enclose its mechanical dewatering process and discontinue the use of open-air drying beds and lagoons. This transition will reduce odors, repurpose the land and allow the facility to comply with new organic waste regulations.
