VA Loma Linda Opens New Ambulatory Care Center
LOMA LINDA, CA - The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Ambulatory Care Center at the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Medical Center
Healthcare System Director Barbara Fallen, local dignitaries, Veterans advocates and Walsh Construction personnel officially welcomed the public to the new 271,000-square-foot facility.
Built by Walsh Construction, the Ambulatory Care Center will house clinics that provide primary medical care, dental, and rehabilitation services to United States veterans.
The facility is unique as the different departments and medical services are located in distinct visually exciting wings joined by a central, three-story atrium space. The VA has established new expectations which are focused on high quality materials and energy efficient facilities that create wellness atmospheres to treat veterans holistically.
The Ambulatory Care Center was designed and constructed to achieve LEED Gold certification. The facility sits on a 43 acre site with over 2,000 parking spaces which allows for future expansion as needed.
The project was created as a leaseback with the Department of Veterans Affairs and Walsh Investors. This alternative delivery method, with Walsh Investors as the owner, allows the VA to provide quality care to those who have served our country.
