Holiday Inn at Cleveland Clinic - Walsh Delivers Hospitality to Healthcare
CLEVELAND, OH – Cleveland Clinic is synonymous with top-tier healthcare and premiere facilities, and now it’s getting a much welcomed hospitality addition.
Walsh Construction recently completed a nine-story Holiday Inn hotel in the Clinic’s University Circle neighborhood. Walsh effectively managed the site constraints to construct a 274 room hotel in the midst of a large, urban Academic Medical Center. The modern facility includes a glass exterior, and features a pool, sauna, fitness room, full-service restaurant and lounge with an outdoor patio. The hotel is a post-tensioned concrete structure with architectural precast and curtainwall enclosure, deviating from the Holiday Inn brand-standard of wood-framed construction.
Walsh managed workforce constraints and met schedule requirements to deliver the project ahead of the upcoming Republican National Convention.
"With the Cleveland construction market being at arguably its highest point in the last 20 years, subcontractors and the labor market were stretched thin. The Walsh Team proactively worked with subcontractors to ensure they were meeting schedule and adjusting as necessary. The Walsh Team is proud to have delivered this facility for a new client, the Cleveland Clinic, and a long-standing client, Murphy Asset Management," said Project Manager Andy Wozniak.
Patients, families, and healthcare professionals will find the building’s accommodations a perfect pairing with the nearby hospital.
