Construction Begins on New Ambulatory Care Center
ORLAND PARK, IL – Construction has ceremoniously begun on a new 3-story, 83,000 SF Ambulatory Care Center for Palos Community Hospital. A groundbreaking ceremony marked the start of construction for this new facility that will reside on the medical group’s South Campus in Orland Park.
Walsh, along with design-build partner Harley Ellis Devereaux, will redevelop the 36 acre site to improve way finding and patient access to services. The new Ambulatory Care Center will include an Ambulatory Surgery Center, Radiation Oncology and a floor of clinical space focused on the academic model. Additionally, Walsh Logistics will provide all medical equipment planning, wayfinding, signage, along with the procurement and installation of the furniture, furnishings and equipment throughout the new facility.
“We’ve been honored to work with Palos Community Hospital and our design-build partner since the earliest stages of this project,” said Walsh’s Vice President of Healthcare Tom Caplis, “From master planning and now moving into construction, we’re excited to build a first-class Ambulatory Care Center that will serve thousands across Chicago’s southwest suburbs.”
