New FBI Norfolk Field Office Opens
CHESAPEAKE, Va. – The FBI held a dedication ceremony to mark the completion of the new state-of-the-art FBI Norfolk Field Office March 27.
The General Services Administration is leasing the 131,463 rentable square-foot office space for the FBI, the project includes an Annex building for the FBI technology and service groups, a visitor screening building, training facilities and a one-story exterior secure parking structure.
The Design/Build/Lease project has a LEED Gold certification pending.
The project is owned by an affiliate of The Walsh Group, Walsh FBI Chesapeake Investors, LLC. The 20-year, fixed lease financing was arranged by Walsh Investors, LLC, which includes the use of a construction/permanent loan made by a large U.S. insurance company.
The new building and location also allows for the Norfolk division’s future growth, creating more than 100 new jobs, further demonstrating The Walsh Group’s active participation in social infrastructure public-private partnership transactions.
