Seattle Building Team Members
Doug Benjamin, Program Manager
Doug is responsible for managing the Seattle Office for the Building Group. Doug brings 20 years’ experience delivering successful and award-winning projects. He has had a part in all of Walsh’s PNW projects and is currently overseeing all building projects. Doug is a major advocate for all of Walsh’s volunteer efforts, including being on the Rebuilding Together South Sound Board of Directors.
Keith Dyer, Regional Safety Manager
Keith oversees all safety aspects of Walsh’s building group projects in the Western Region. He brings over 32 years of safety and health experience in the construction industry. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with extensive experience in the development and implementation of comprehensive Loss Control Programs.
Gayane Aghazarian, Senior Construction Technology Manager
Gayane leads the Seattle region in integrating technology advancements throughout construction operations by promoting, educating, and implementing process improvements. She leads the BIM coordination process on all West Coast projects. Gayane brings extensive experience executing BIM planning, MEP shop model coordination, pre-fabrication, and quality control using BIM.
Seattle Heavy Civil Team Members
Rob VanGorder, Business Group Leader
Rob leads The Walsh’s Groups and western region heavy civil operations, including projects in Washington. Rob brings over 29 years of experience in construction and has held senior executive roles in complex heavy civil markets.
Ray Riojas, Area Manager
Ray has 35 years of experience and has managed Walsh’s Seattle Civil division for seven years, executing more than $300 million in projects for clients such as King County, Sound Transit, Seattle City Light, and the cities of Bellingham and Seattle. Ray is responsible for more than 60 full-time professionals providing project and construction management, estimating, accounting, and operational services.
Kenn Hallquist, Senior Project Manager
Kenn has 22 years of experience coordinating with public project owners, stakeholders, and subcontractors. Kenn is currently Walsh’s Project Manager on the Hilltop Tacoma Link Extension project for Sound Transit, managing Walsh’s self-performed scopes of work and more than 50 subcontractors in addition to ensuring the safety and access of Tacoma’s businesses and pedestrians.
Neil Hunt, Senior Project Manager
Neil has 22 years of experience on more than $6.5B of civil engineering construction projects, including six design-build projects totaling $740M. Most recently, Neil was project manager on WSDOT’s $120M I-5/SR 16 Interchange – Construct HOV Connections design-build project, responsible for realizing WSDOT’s project goals and the “Project First” culture. At Walsh Neil focuses on design-build project pursuits.
Tim Rule, Senior Project Manager
Tim has 23 years of design and construction experience with various delivery methods and all phases of work. He understands what is important to clients and ensures it is applied throughout project execution. Tim focuses on project pursuits and estimating, with a focus on light rail, and develops unique safety programs with industry leading results.
Mike Bragg, Project Manager
Mike has 15 years of experience on heavy civil construction projects, with particular proficiency in scheduling complex projects such as the U-District Station concrete package project for Sound Transit and the South Magnolia CSO Control project for King County. Mike is the Project Manager on the Middle Fork Nooksack River Fish Passage project.
