Capacity of the Surprise SPA 1 Water Reclamation Facility was increased from eight to 16 MGD. The facility treats typical domestic wastewater from residential and commercial areas in the city of Surprise. The project scope included improvements to influent pumps, headworks, aeration basins, disinfection facilities and ancillary facilities. The project team worked closely with the City and design engineer to develop a phased delivery of seven GMPs (guaranteed maximum prices) and five construction packages in order to meet aggressive regulatory requirement schedule milestones
