Archer-United JV Receives Palmetto Shining Star Safety Award for Carolina Crossroads Project
Columbia, SC — Archer-United Joint Venture, a collaboration between Archer Western Construction and United Infrastructure Group, has been awarded the Palmetto Shining Star 2025 Safety Award by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR). This honor recognizes the project team’s outstanding commitment to safety on the Carolina Crossroads Project, one of the largest infrastructure projects in state history.
The Palmetto Shining Star Award highlights organizations that go above and beyond in promoting safe work environments and preventing workplace injuries. In presenting the award, the Division of Labor commended Archer-United for helping advance LLR’s mission to protect the health, safety, and economic well-being of South Carolina’s workforce through regulation, training, and education.
The Carolina Crossroads Project aims to alleviate congestion and improve mobility at the critical interchange of I-20, I-26, and I-126 in Columbia, often referred to as “Malfunction Junction.” Archer-United is leading the design-build efforts for Phases 1 and 2, implementing critical upgrades that will improve traffic flow, safety, and capacity for decades to come.
This award is a testament to the project team's dedication to creating a safe work environment while executing one of the state’s most complex transportation upgrades.
