Archer Western completes upgrades to Santa Rita Water Reclamation Facility
Durango, Colorado - Archer Western completed multiple upgrades at the Santa Rita Water Reclamation Facility to allow the treatment plant to meet future regulations. Upgrades included a new blower/chemical building and aeration basins, new side stream, new domes and electrical upgrades, two new primary clarifiers, new primary sludge station, new primary odor control tanks, new headworks facility, new solids dewatering facility, two new anaerobic digesters, two new secondary clarifiers, new UV disinfection building and development of a neighboring park. The upgrades ensure compliance with regulatory requirements that accommodate future growth and protection of the adjacent Animas River. The project was complete in the spring of 2020.
