Matt Walsh and Dan Walsh honored by Chicago Historical Society for architecture and design contributions

CHICAGO - Matt Walsh and Dan Walsh, co-chairmen of The Walsh Group, were among seven distinguished honorees at the 25th Anniversary of the Chicago Historical Society's Making History Awards. The "Making History Award" pays tribute to the positive and enduring impact of Chicago's extraordinary leaders while supporting the Chicago History Museum’s innovative programs.

Matt Walsh and Dan Walsh were presented with The Daniel H. Burnham "Making History Award" for Distinction in Architecture and Design. They were introduced by Monsignor Kenneth Velo. From construction to community service, the Walsh brothers were applauded for their accomplishments that have shaped the design of Chicago and enhanced the city's communities.

Fellow honorees included Rocky Wirtz, chairman at Chicago Blackhawks; Frederick Waddell, retired chairman and CEO at Northern Trust; Barbara Gaines and Criss Henderson, founding artistic and executive directors at Chicago Shakespeare Theater; and Valerie Jarrett, former senior advisor and assistant to President Barack Obama.
