Walsh/Granite JV Sponsors Holiday Dinner for Homeless Veterans
The construction joint venture team for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project – Walsh/Granite JV – hosted a holiday dinner for homeless veterans in Monroe County.
Residents of Paul’s House Valor Clinic Foundation – a shelter for homeless veterans – joined Walsh/Granite JV project staff, as well as members of the 3d Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment Battery of Allentown for the special dinner.
"We wanted to give something tangible back to the communities we have a presence in,” said Stephen Ascoli, East Region Deputy Project Manager for Walsh/Granite JV. "It makes such a difference to actually sit and share a meal with somebody, and break some bread together, especially during the holiday season.”
Special guests attending the dinner included State Senator Mario Scavello, State Representative Jack Rader and eight members of the 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment Battery, located in Allentown.
“I want to offer my sincere appreciation to Walsh/Granite JV for their generous support of Valor Clinic and our area veterans,” said Senator Scavello. “It is always great to see a company give back to the communities in which they serve.”
It was an extra special evening for several Walsh/Granite JV project team members who have served in the military.
With project offices in Pittsburgh, State College, Harrisburg and Allentown and 558 bridge projects in 66 counties, Walsh/Granite JV is dedicated to aid charitable organizations in the various communities in which they work.
