Texas Contractor of the Year Awarded
Texas Construction magazine recently announced its selection of Archer Western Contractors Ltd. of Arlington as its 2010 Contractor of the Year.
The annual designation recognized excellence in Archer Western’s commitment to construction innovation and best business practices, reputation in the industry, volume of work and safety record. Archer Western Contractors is a subsidiary of The Walsh Group, a general contracting, construction management, and design-build firm ranked among the nation’s Top 20 Contractors in Engineering News-Record, a sister publication of Texas Construction.
With corporate headquarters in Chicago, Archer Western has a regional office in Arlington, Texas, that focuses on infrastructure improvements including multi-level highway interchanges, bridges, light rail transit, levees, airports civil work, lift stations, pump stations and water treatment plants. In Texas Construction’s ranking of Texas Top Contractors, an annual feature published every April, the firm recently ranked No. 14 out of 125 firms and No. 1 in all subcategories for water-related specialties.
The Arlington regional office constructs projects from Lubbock, to Lawton, Okla., to New Orleans. In 2009, Archer Western completed more than $431 million worth of construction work in the Texas regional area.
