Archer Western is the lead partner in a Joint Venture (AWBC), which has been awarded the first of two large-scale CM/GC Contracts with DART. The CM/GC is responsible for pre-construction services for civil, trackwork, and system components as part of the Light Rail Transit System Extension Buildout Phase IIA Project. This project includes Line Sections SE-1, SE-2, NW-1B and the communications and signals work in the existing NW-1A line section. On the second project, Archer Western has teamed with Herzog Contracting Corp as a Joint Venture on Line Sections NW-2, NW-3 and NW-4. The majority of the line will be double LRT tracks with 15'-6" centers and built alongside active freight railroad. Both rail contracts include a total of 25.8 miles of new light rail double track guideway, 14 at grade stations, 5 elevated passenger stations, 3 elevated bridge structures, 1.2 million SF of bridge deck, and 524 spans. Also included is a 90,000 SF 2-story service and inspection facility to house maintenance and operation controls.
