The I-75/I-475 Interchange Reconstruction project was located in Bibb County, on the south side of Macon, Georgia. The project extended over 3.7 miles of interstate and included the reconstruction and widening of I-75 and I-475. Additionally, an upgraded and reconfigured ramp system for traffic from Hartley Bridge Road was incorporated into the project scope. Archer Western self performed construction of 4 new bridges, moving more than 1,000,000 CY of excavation and embankment, and placing 397,000 SY of 12” concrete paving. Other items that were self performed include installation of storm water management facilities, permanent and temporary mechanically stabilized earth retaining wall structures, installing overhead signs and structures, and producing concrete for the project.
