This conversion project for Senior Lifestyle Corporation consisted of 71,940 SF of renovation and 25,160 SF of new construction. This old YMCA building in Joliet, Illinois was in disrepair and in dire need of refurbishing. Walsh was chosen to convert the facility into independent senior living apartments for the community of Joliet. The interior of the existing building was renovated to provide 60 senior housing units as well as a new six-story block and plank addition, which was completed on the south side of the building. Floors 2-6 of the addition provide 30 new dwelling units. In total, the project consists of 90 independent senior living apartment suites.
