The expansion and interior remodel of the existing and operational Target Store required three major phases. In order for the store to remain open to the public during construction, scheduling and coordination of construction and store operations were the most important activities throughout the project. The first phase of the project included warehouse additions, a new loading dock, a cast in place concrete parking garage and two service-sized elevators. The second phase involved the renovation of the interior of the store and build-out of additional sales floor space. The third phase included the demolition and build out of the store entrances, public washrooms, support space and retail space. Target Corporation and Walsh Construction developed an excellent working relationship that allowed for the success of the project.
