This 5.2-acre deck park will create an urban green space spanning over the Woodall Rodgers Freeway and provide a pedestrian link between downtown Dallas and Uptown. The deck stretches approximately 1,600 feet long and 192 feet wide and is comprised of 307 box beams. Work will require the installation of drill shafts and abutments, construction of a new exit ramp, and placement of deck. Special considerations include installation of geo-foam fill material to minimize weight loading, tree wells, specialized irrigation and drainage features. The resulting tunnel below the deck will require installation of air management systems, emergency egress lighting, and extensive fireproofing to meet TxDOT standards.
