Walsh Construction has completed two projects for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Waukegan: the construction of a Data Center and Training Facility for $28 Million and the subsequent addition of office space to the original structure for $10 Million. The 95,000 SF Data Center and Training Facility is a single story building that serves as the primary data processing center for the Health Care Services Corporation. Due to the importance of keeping the computer system on-line, the building was designed to withstand natural disasters and other emergency situations. The two-story office addition involved the construction of 59,700 SF. The additional space is used as office space for the IT portion of the company.
