Metl-Span Panels add Strength to Fitness Center

July 2009
Walsh Construction served as the design/builder for the Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center II. The facility contains administrative offices, indoor and outdoor pools, locker rooms, indoor tennis courts, indoor track and workout areas, and fitness/exercise studios. The facility also includes a physical therapy area with a dedicated clinical therapy pool to compliment the hospital system rehabilitation services.
The 120,000 SF Health Bridge Fitness Center presents a high-tech exterior look created by a "running bond" panel pattern plus random placement of two different silver colors of Metl-Span panels. The running bond pattern creates a distinctive appearance by staggering the vertical joints between panels.
These insulated metal panels are energy efficient and cost effective. Metl-Span pioneered many of the developments of insulated metal panels and continues to make significant contributions to design innovations and technology that shape industry standards. They are manufactured with class I polyurethane foam that is injected in-line between two steel face sheets. For added strength and superior appearance, the faces are textured with stucco embossing and are finished with baked-on coatings in standard and special colors.
